Hunter MFA Playwrights Festival: April, 2018
The festival is the culmination of Hunter’s MFA Playwriting Program led by Annie Baker and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, and features readings of new full-length works by Hunter’s 2018 MFA playwrights! Got to play with some fiercely funny & fabulous women!!! WINNIE & JOJO by Sarah Bernstein Directed by Liz Carlson Winnie and Jojo were the best of friends. Years later, after having traveled different paths, they are reunited again—but find they've changed more than they thought. A story about the devastating transience of friendship, identity, and youth. Happy Closing to the cast of Solstice Party written by the amazing and wonderful Susan Soon He Stanton with a fun cast and talented crew led by our Director Tyler Mercer. It was my first time working with Live Source Theatre which is a company of multidisciplinary artists with a unique mission to elevate the role of design in the creation, development, and production of new theatrical works. Had some great audiences for this crazy show and I am really proud to have been a part of it. If you didn't have a chance to catch it, here is a little description:
"A group of friends gather to celebrate the Summer Solstice together in the deep Upstate New York woods behind an old farmhouse. What begins as a casual fun weekend quickly devolves into something more sinister; a power -struggle and then a game of survival that is by turns bizarre and shocking. Written as a Jonestown parable for the Trump era, playwright Susan Soon He Stanton explores themes of "group- think" and betrayal that instigate our deepest primal fears." - Live Source Theatre Group Some nice things that people said then typed for public consumption:
I am proud to be working on this hysterical, poignant and all-around amazing World Premiere of "I Now Pronounce"- part of the 41st Humana Festival of New American Plays at ACTORS Theatre of Louisville. Directed by the incredible Stephen Brackett and penned by the wondrous Tasha Gordon-Solomon with a cast that boggles my mind, is baller FUN and has me cracking up backstage every single night! If you happen to be in Kentucky March 1-April 9, 2017 you won't want to miss it! BUY TICKETS
